Nanjing Vocational Institute of Transport Technology （NJITT）, established in 1953, is a public-funded full - time higher education institution. It was independently upgraded and turned into a higher vocational institute with the approval of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government in June of 2001, and ranked among High - level Higher Vocational Institutes of Jiangsu in 2018. In terms of specialties, NJITT closely follows the development of Jiangsu’ transportation industry and has established six provincial high - level specialty clusters, including Transportation Civil Engineering, Automotive Services, Logistics Management, Rail Transit, Intelligent Transportation, and Construction Engineering. It has also cultivated and developed several transport - related and high - demand specialties, such as Intelligent Connected Vehicles, Industrial Robotics Technology, UAV Application Technology, and Safety management. Among them, the Automotive specialty cluster, transportation civil engineering specialty cluster, and transportation management specialty cluster are at the leading level nationwide in terms of educational strength.
In terms of international education, NJITT adheres to the principle of opening up and cooperation and continuously broadens its international perspective. It actively aligns with the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the “Going Global” strategy of large transportation enterprises. It has carried out in - depth international cooperation with well - known enterprises such as China Jiangsu International, Jiangsu Provincial Transportation Engineering Group, and Jiangsu Transportation Scientific Group. The institute has sent teachers and students to participate in the construction of the China - UAE “Belt and Road” Production Capacity Cooperation Park and more than 10 other overseas projects in Zambia, Anpeng, and other places. It has taken the lead in passing the Quality Certification for Higher Vocational Education for International Students by the Ministry of Education and ranks among the Top National Higher Vocational Institutes in this regard.
